DescriptionAt the plain edge of the bend of the elbow, the manifer is pierced with two threaded modern holes, placed transversely. To these is bolted the associated pasguard, a shell-like wing, curving from the inner face (damaged) across the bend of the arm where it is bent forward to protect the joint, and out onto its fluted and cusped outer face. The basal edge of the plate is pierced for the bolts (one modern) and cusped at these points; the upper edge is finished as a hollow, boxed flange.Provenance(probably) ex-Nuremberg "Zeughaus" Germanisches Museum (Nuremberg) (to c. 1905) Counts Erbach-Erbach (Erbach in Odenwald) E.
