DescriptionVambraces of turner, upper cannon; elbow-plate with 1 lame above, 1 below; lower cannon of 2 hinged plates. L elbow tendon guard terminates in the middle of the inner elbow. Not a pair, composited and altered to resemble each other.
ProvenanceArmor was purchased by Duveen Bros. for Clarence H. Mackay, November 24, 1928, #A-51, at the American Art Association (NYC) sale of Dr. Bashford Dean's estate, listed as lot 299, plate XL. Purchased by Museum on June 1, 1942 from Gimbel Bros. (NYC). Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
