DescriptionThree upwardly overlapping lames, curved to the body, and narrowing toward waist. More-or-less equal depth, broading & dipping slightly towards middle. Lames secured by flattened rivets at ends. Lame edges rise slightly at rivets near ends & nicked with "v"-shaped cut at medial region. Basal lame beaten out in shallow, rounded flange at fork, but this may be later modification. The lames are attached to one another by flattened rivets at either terminal; there are no holes or fittings for articulating leathers within the fauld. The lowest lame is additionally pierced at its upper edge to either side of the pucker with a hole for attaching the now-lost tassets.

Higgins on 28 September 1929 as "odd lot 3" from the estate of Dr. Bashford Dean (Riverdale, NY). Price paid for lot, including #927, 928, 1671. Given to Armory on 8 January 1947.
