DescriptionOf small size. 4 upwardly overlapping narrow steel lames concave to body, flaring out towards bottom. Lames of equal depth over length as dip slightly towards middle from plain ends. All edges plain & without turns. Slight, hollow-flanged low arch at medial point of basal lame. Lames articulated by flat-headed rivets near ends; no signs of mounts for internal leathers. To either side of arched flange on basal lame, at upper edge, is punched hole. These were probably for inner set of leather straps for tassets; outer ones were probably secured to articulating rivets at lame ends.
