DescriptionDepiction of the Virgin of Guadalupe (Virgin Mary imprinted on a piece of cloth). In the lower register, Joachim and Anna hold the textile open, flanked by Joseph and the Christ Child at right and Jerome at left. The Archangels Michael (with armor) and Gabriel (with trumpet) clasp the cloth in the upper corners, with God the Father and the Holy Spirit hovering above, accompanied by cherubs along the sides.Provenance(June 23, 2001, sold at Gestas Carrére auction, Pau, France); 2001-2014, private French collection; (2014-2017, Galerie Terrades, Paris); 2017, purchased by the Worcester Art Museum.
