DescriptionIron with pronounced grain. Elongated leaf shaped head, double edged & of flattened lozenge section with curved shoulders below. Tall closed conical integral socket welded up along one face, head appears to have been excavated and later ground down in order to be repolished. Head may well be medieval. Piece has been greatly reduced.ProvenanceAngelo Peyron (Florence, Italy) collection
