Label TextNakamura Shichisaburo was a famous actor of gentle male roles. This print has tentatively been connected with the 1699 Nakamura-za production of Keisei Asamagatake. The actual woodblock is now part of the holdings of the Freer Gallery of Art. From it a few trial proofs were purportedly printed in 1905. Stylistically reminiscent of Kiyonobu I.
