DescriptionMounted as a kakemono-e.Label TextMatsukaze is shown seated on the bent-over trunk of the pine tree on Suma Beach, upon which her faithless lover, the noble lord Ariwara no Yukihira, hung his haori (coat) and eboshi (hat) as pledges that he would come back to her (which he never did) when he had to leave, having been recalled to the Imperial Court of Kyoto, form which he had been temporarily banished.
