DescriptionHorizontal oban (oban yoko-e)
Label TextA courtesan who has thrown off her outer kimono with cherry blossom design, is stretched out on the floor of a room; a male client is reclining beside her. A sake kettle and cup are placed near them on the floor. Both are looking toward the right where the courtesan's girl attendant (kamuro) is approaching with a tray-stand of sweets. The only furniture shown is a large two-fold screen depicting a stream and rocks.
