Label TextLocated on the Inland Sea, the tranquil shores and rugged pines of Maiko Beach have been celebrated by Japanese poets throughout history. One such poem was included in the Manyoshu (Collection of Ten Thousand Leaves), an anthology of Japanese poetry compiled during the Nara period (710−794 CE).
