DescriptionPrint no. 31 of the series "Famous Views of the Sixty-odd Provinces"Label TextLake Renko has long been a productive spawning ground and habitat. For centuries, fisherman in the area have set out at night with torches at the stern of each boat to net the juvenile fish drawn to the light. In 1835 and 1836 Hiroshige had designed a series of eight prints featuring famous sights from the town of Kanazawa, which is known for its beautiful landscape. He used his earlier work as a basis for this print.
