DescriptionThe Virgin appears at the top center, surrounded by angels and clouds. One of the angels on the left holds out a gold crown. Below, the Apostles gather around the open tomb. A decorative silver incense burner appears on the steps in front of the tomb. In the background are buildings and columns.
ProvenanceSaid to have been in the collection of the Presbytery, Wappenbury, Warwickshire; P & D Colnaghi & Co. Ltd., London, England, by 1978; sold to the Museum, 1978.
