Label TextIn 1926, Kent and his wife Frances Lee honeymooned in Donegal, Ireland, for four months. There, the couple embraced the slower pace of the countryside. Kent was prolific, creating at least 36 paintings and watercolors. In April 1927, a critic from The New York World remarked, “Mr. Kent learned in Ireland, perhaps better than anywhere else, how to fuse life through the somber crusts of rocks, how to translate shadows into lambent action and how to merge the hues of water into a composite sheen which few have the skill to produce."ProvenanceWeyhe Gallery, New York, NYOn View
