Label TextSimple abstract forms in stable compositions characterize Feeley's serene images. He found inspiration in ancient Cycladic and Egyptian sculpture, and distilled them through logical processes of simplification. This classicism identifies Feeley's work with Minimalist ideas and images. In the 1960s he headed the art department at Bennington College in Vermont, where he organized landmark exhibitions of the work of Jackson Pollock and David Smith. On View
