DescriptionThree Predella PanelLabel TextNeri di Bicci was the son of a painter, Bicci di Lorenzo. He had an active workshop in Florence for a relatively long period of time. His work was strongly influenced by that of Filippo Lippi. The panels depict the stories of Tobias and the Angel with Saints Cosmas and Damian (left); the Nativity (center); and Saints Ursula and Jerome (right). Although the panels are now separate and framed, they may originally have been a single panel with only painted divisions between the scenes. It is not known from what altarpiece the predella comes.ProvenanceBequeathed to the Worcester Art Museum as part of the Theodore T. and Mary G. Ellis Collection, 1940.
