DescriptionWood, carved cresting, turned legs and stretchers, back composed of five split banisteres (said to be more rare than chairs with only four. Cresting is usual, 2 c-scrolls one on each side of a fleur-de-lis form. Ball feet at front, rush seat. Purchased at Kennebunkport, ME., in 19thc by Grenville H. Norcross, then came to Mr. T. Hovey Gage, Mrs. Rice's father. For further information see: notes by L. Dresser.
