Descriptionswivel-type gold ring featuring a carved amethyst scarab, warm-toned gold, pinkish-purple translucent amethyst, scarab design clear and deeply carved.Label TextEgyptian stone and ceramic scarabs were sometimes set in precious metal mounts designed to be worn as jewelry, including finger rings. This was also the case during the modern era, when jewelers in Europe and the United States were commissioned to create wearable settings for small antiquities.
