Provenanceformerly of Mrs. Thomas Reynolds granddaughter of Sara K. Hobbie; pot is thought to have descended to the daughter of the original owners, Martha Henshaw who married Isaac Cahpman Bates, U.S. Senator 1841-1845; their daughter Theresa married Lewis J. Dudley, their daughter Etta Theresa Bates Dudley married Wallace Holbrook Krause; their daughter Sarah, married Edward Hobbie and on her death the teapot went to Edward Henshaw Hobbie and Frances Theresa Hobbie, the later married Edwin K. Abbott and they were parents of Mrs. Thomas H. Reynolds of Wayland. 4/5/1958 - purchased by the Paul Revere Life Insurance Company (UnumProvident) from Frances A. Reynolds of Wayland, MA Alvertus D. Morse
