DescriptionChippendale fall-front secretary on straight bracket feet, enclosing a straight molded apron; the case fitted with four graduated incise molded drawers; the fall-front lid, opening to an interior of double step cabinet with a secret drawer; the inset top with fluted pilasters, enclosing two shaped paneled doors, surmounted by an architectural pedimented crest with acorn finial; brasses replaced.Label TextAs if informed by the stately architecture of the era, this carved Chippendale secretary displays noble embellishments on a sturdy, rectangular structure. The case is fitted with four graduated incise molded drawers with brass bat-wing pulls and a fall-front lid, which opens to an interior double step cabinet with a secret drawer. The inset bookcase on top is enclosed by two paneled doors with carved pilasters at their hinges and is crowned with stacked molding, a broken pediment, and an acorn finial.
