Label TextDuring the early eighteenth century, a new style swept England. Based on the graceful S-curved “line of beauty,” it is now known as the Queen Anne style, although it did not flourish until after Anne’s rule, which ended in 1714. Chairs such as this served as popular models for American furniture of the mid-1700s.
