Label TextShaw was a prominent fashion photographer in 1958, when "Life" magazine assigned him to shoot a photo essay on the John F. Kennedy family. He arranged to visit the family compound in Hyannis Port on Cape Cod, where the extended clan gathered to relax, recharge and enjoy each others’ company. This is Kennedy’s favorite photograph of himself among those that appeared in the magazine. Instead of a man of power or sophistication, it depicts an introspective, thoughtful individual.ProvenanceDavid Davis
