Description32-lame iron bowl of akoda-nari form. Globular-headed rivets set in rosettes between applied vertical ridges; structurally a hoshi-bachi kabuto, but visually suji-bachi as well. Multiple sets of mounting holes for shikoros, indicating remounting over time. Brass tehen. Swinging eyelet top-rear of bowl. Brass haraidate-dai (crest-holder); this looks old, but perhaps not from the original mounting. Red lacquer under visor.
ProvenancePurchased by Museum on December 14, 1932 from Kano Oshima (NYC), his #19550. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
