DescriptionAfter mid-16th century Italian style. Embossed iron with gilding and damascening. Represents scene of Trojan War. Remains of leather grips riveted to the back, as well as lining rivets around the perimeter, retaining fragments of textile and leather lining bands.
ProvenanceFrank Lynch (he purchased it at American Art Association - Anderson Galleries (NYC) on March 12-14, 1931) purchased by Museum on June 22, 1939 from Josephine M. Hodskins (Holyoke, MA). Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
