DescriptionMate & identical to WAM 2014.1013.1.
Heavy copper alloy with tinned surface. Rectangular slightly convex footplate. Side plates triangular with squared top. Thick triangular bar stock forms support for ovoid loop. Bar continues down sideplates tapering to footplate where terminated in point.
ProvenanceAngelo Peyron (Florence, Italy) purchased by the museum at the Peyron sale at Savoy Art and Auction Galleries, New York, part of lot 675, on 6 November 1954. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
