DescriptionSteel, circular type with radiating flutings, traces of leather on attached plates, with modern leather and buckles. Center and top plates look original; the remainder is suspect, especially given the butted mail.
ProvenanceAngelo Peyron (Florence, Italy) purchased by the Museum on November 6, 1954 from Savoy Art and Auction Galleries (NYC), sale no. 450, lot no. 832. Price of $105 included HAM#s 3091.1-4 Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
