DescriptionAssociated to the backplate. Armholes lack the roped decoration of the backplate. Double incised lines along the medial ridge, armholes, neckline, and seamlines; these lines are different from those on the associated backplate. Irregular paired holes at the center of the neckhole, perhaps from an old mounting (seems unlikely to be akin to the paired lacing holes of Maximilian breastplates). Hooks probably restored. There are assembly holes at the bottom edge of the waist flange. Painted interior matching that of the tassets.ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins in July 1930 from York Galleries, Mr. Theodore Offerman, NYC. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
