DescriptionOf heavy steel. 9 lames lapping upward, 3 fauld lames below, 2 gussets. Gussets seem to belong. Lowest fauld lame definitely associated (belongs with cuisses of the composite armor), 2 upper fauld lames probably also associated, from different sources. Terminal fauld lame retains traces of what may have been velvet pickadills.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on September 28, 1929 from estate of Dr. Bashford Dean (Riverdale, NY), his number 300 in American Art Association Sale, November 23, 1928. Given to the Museum on December 15, 1931. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
