DescriptionWrought iron frame with molding at top and bottom of frame, also turned molding above and below the handle. Decoratively turned wooden head, barrel-shaped wooden grip has cracked, and a strip of pewter has been wrapped around it to stabilize the wood (evidently a working-life repair). Square hole in the chuck to receive the tang of the bit, with a thumb-screw to secure it in place (this looks like a restoration).
