DescriptionLarge Imari vase. Blue, white and red with exotic birds and flowers. Vertical ribbing overall.Label TextImari wares derive their name from the port from which the porcelain produced in Arita and the neighboring villages was shipped to other parts of Japan and exported to foreign countries. The designs are usually taken from textile patterns and cover the entire surface. Red is the dominant color on Imari wares. This splendid jar was made for export.
