DescriptionThis chair has an inverted trapezoidal back and square seat with rounded corners, and both are fabricated from light-colored, molded plywood with a clear finish. The back is not attached to the seat, but is secured by a single chromed steel forked bar attached to the posterior surface with two screws and rubber shock mounts. This center bar is molded to the rear legs and extends up to the bottom surface of the seat, where it is attached again with screws and rubber shock mounts. The chromed steel legs are formed in two square arches, each terminating in rubber and metal floor gliders. The front leg arch is higher than the rear, causing the chair to lean backward.
ProvenanceMr. and Mrs. David Milliken, Worcester, MA; purchased by the Millikens about 1960 from Research and Design, Cambridge
