Label TextFrom 1922 to 1930 Annalise Fleischmann specialized in textile design at the progressive German art school, the Bauhaus. There she met Josef Albers, whom she married in 1925. The two artists moved to the United States in 1933, and she continued to design and weave fabrics. In 1949 Albers's textiles were shown in a solo exhibition at the Museum of Modern Art, but twenty years later she turned away from the loom to concentrate instead on drawings and prints.ProvenanceJames N.
