Label TextThe façades of Mexican adobe houses provided inspiration for Albers's Variants paintings and prints. Each gridlike composition is made up of roughly equal amounts of different colors. Therefore, the dominant hue is determined not by the quantity of paint but the way that colors are registered by the brain.
