Label TextThe camel must be a royal animal: the hair of its neck, head, hump, and front legs, depicted with fine pen strokes, giving the impression of a pampered animal.Facing toward the left and proudly holding his head in a broad curve, the animal nearly pushes the small groom out of the picture. His posture, despite the fact that his two front legs are fettered, and chained to a stump, seems almost mincing. A finely ornamented cloth lies on its back.ProvenanceAlexander H.
