Label TextAfter beginning his photojournalism career at the "Harvard Crimson", Loengard joined "Life" magazine in 1961. Three years later he was still the youngest on staff, so he was assigned to photograph the Beatles at the time of their second appearance on the "Ed Sullivan Show". That week the program was broadcast from Miami Beach to include an interview with Cassius Clay, training there for his title bout with Sonny Liston. For this memorable shot Loengard coaxed the Beatles into the unusual setting of the hotel swimming pool.On View
