Label TextThis remarkable artifact of Woodstock represents Skolnick’s trademark logo for the music festival at Yasgur’s farm in Bethel, New York. Without a date, location, or list of performers, this is not an advertisement. Its image of a dove on a guitar neck—that Skolnick developed from a catbird perched on a flute—and typography were screened onto staff T-shirts. This poster was one of just a handful meant to mark an official festival location, like information booths and medical tents.ProvenanceDavid Davis
