DescriptionIron. Saber-like apical blade of E. European style. Curved cutting edge to point with false edge & strong flat back in line with staff. Flat pointed fluke with curved ring at top & pierced by pair of holes. Opposed by crescentic axe blade pierced by groups of holes & drawn into low cusps above & below. Open socket extending down shaft as pair of long langets. Modern wooden staff of octagonal section retaining fragments of red velvet tassel at base of head.
