DescriptionSteel, polished bright. Tall quadranglar thrusting spike, leaf-shaped below with strong medial rib to conical socket below. Pair of curved cusps at base of blade. Pointed fluke, cusped above & below & pierced with groups of holes. Triangular axe blade, cusped on its edges & pierced like fluke. Modern circular section wooden staff with remnants of red tassel at base of head.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on March 2, 1928 from Liberty & Co., London, England. Given to the Museum on July 1, 1954. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
