DescriptionSteel elongated leaf shaped head, double edge with rounded point. Of flattened hexagonal section for approximately one half its length at which point it becomes flattened lozenge section to tip. On lower half on both faces to either side of medial line is single shallow fuller following curve of edge. These fullers extend down to base of blade with flange terminals. The socket is turned & of two stages with incised lines at swellings. While obscured by staff, head probably extends in long tang plugged into taper wooden staff of circular section. On its upper two-thirds & at its butt staff is encircled by 8 brass rings & cylindrical butt cap. A rather similar three-stage cylindrical brass casing is found below head & is itself encircled by braided band of woven vegetable fiber.
