DescriptionRusseted iron. Tall, rounded frame with swelling at top, fitted with a "D"-shaped, free suspension ring. Open, near-circular tread plate filled with iron strap in cusped, quatrefoil motif. Decoration limited to pairs of cut lines & "X"s.ProvenanceGeorge L. Maxwell purchased by John W. Higgins on November 30, 1928 from Anderson Galleries (NY), lot 208.
