DescriptionThe piece has been much repaired and altered. Very fine mail of tight weave; once a fine piece. Alternates riveted and solid links, about 3-4mm interior diameter, 5-6mm ext. The body has a number of insertions of distinct mail types, including theta mail on the chest--this could be an original feature to strengthen this area. Gussets under the arms. Long sleeves, open in front, short slit in back. Some patching at rear collar line of main body, perhaps to fill a gap at time of attaching the collar. About 40 cm W at shoulder.

A collar decorated with brass rings in Ganga-Jamni style has been attached with wires after the working life of the piece. It is of fine mail of light wire, alternating riveted and punched links. The brass links are riveted.
