DescriptionSteel, for right hand. Very wide, flaring tubular cuff with slight medial ridge, & riveted closed along inside. Opening for hand with roped, inward turn, bordered by rivet holes. 7 overlapping metacarpal lames. Edges of lames 1-6 decorated with 2 parallel lines & cusp at center. 7th lame straight with raised, file-roped ridge at knuckles where form 4 deep scallops, each with hole near ridge. All lames secured with flat-headed rivets. Fingers lacking.ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on September 28, 1929 from estate of Bashford Dean (Riverdale, NY).
