DescriptionSteel, fingered & left hand. Identically contructed & decorated as WAM 2014.574. Chiseled parallel pair of lines are deeper in most places & almost absent where begins curve on cuff. Thumb plate exists & is slightly convex leaf-shaped, riveted to leather strap, with same chiseled lines. One set of finger scales lost. Double holes at the cuff and wrist to secure the lining-glove. Retains leather components, including the glove; these likely date to Dean's ownership.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on September 28, 1929 from estate of Bashford Dean (Riverdale, NY). Given to the Museum on January 8, 1947. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
