DescriptionPauldrons are symmetrical & rounded. Left consists of 6 etched lames similar to breast and backplates, entirely modern, made to match the R, possibly by Joubert. Borders roped, lower lame to match breastplate. Topmost lame fitted with buckle for colletin strap, lowest lame with vertical rectangular slot to engage turning-pin of arm defense. Second through fifth lames with single "u"-shaped nick on edge.
ProvenanceFelix Joubert of London sold to Clarence H. Mackay in 1922. Purchased by John W. Higgins from Jacques Seligman & Co., NY (agents for Mackay) on 18 July 1939. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
