Label TextSenneh, modern Sanadaj, is the capital of Iranian Kurdistan. Famous for its rug weaving since the nineteenth century, the pile rugs of Senneh, such as this one, are notable for their fine weave, their use of pistachio green, and their reliance on all-over repeat patterns employed in a medallion format. All of these qualities are found in this example.ProvenanceMrs. Kingsmill Marrs, Boston MA
