DescriptionForged from a single piece of steel. Overall size, shape & attached heavy chains identical to WAM 2014.1025. Remains of butted mail at the wrist. Etched and enriched with silver koftgari along the center with palmettes and half-palmettes surrounding a central lobed medallion inscribed in Persian ("Shah Abbas" etc) against a background etched and engraved with seated figures, fruit, and foliage. The border is etched with cartouches containing a silvered Arabic inscription in a pseudo-Kufic script. There are several rings for the attachment of the lost wrist plates. Decoration in lower band of main plate is more geometric. Center panel has central lobed medallion filled with calligraphy, with 2 seated, facing, figures above & below. Voids filled with scrolling floral vines & fruits.
