DescriptionBroad thrusting blade of flattened hollow-ground hexagonal section with strong medial rib on both faces with rounded point. Base of blade with pair of upturned lugs, scrolled above & below. Molded plinth resting on open hexagonal knop, itself part of two stage hexagonal socket with flat hexagonal raised moldings. Pair of long langets, front and rear, secured to circular sectioned staff having two section butt spike with decorative hexagonal moldings. Lower portion of head carved in openwork with traces of punched foliate decoration.
