DescriptionSteel. Double-edge blade of lenticular section, edges parallel for 3/4 of length whence they taper into acute point. Both faces with medial narrow fuller, with another shallow fuller to either side of this. Base of shoulders with triangular bolster which is part of domed swelling having thin rimmed base atop long closed conical socket. Bolster, swelling & socket have silver koft-gari undulating tendrils. Associated wood (circular section) staff, now removed.
ProvenancePurchased by John W. Higgins on April 20, 1931 from Fenton & Sons, Ltd., London, England. Given to the Museum on July 1, 1954. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
