DescriptionMate to HAM #2440.2, but for left hand. Identical construction & decoration, but retains complete thumb defense & middle & little fingers. Each of latter 2 are of 5 plates, 2 of which are spiked as the knuckle plate. Rounded terminal scale cut with chevron.
ProvenancePurchased by Museum from American Art Association, Anderson Galleries (NYC), Macomber sale, December 10-12, 1936, (lot 473). Paid $25 for lot which included HAM#s 2440.1-6. Collection transfer from Higgins Armory, January 2014.
