DescriptionSteel. Circular, slightly dome-shaped. Grip apparatus secured with 6 bossets having scalloped, pierced flanges and nipples, their surface decorated with gold koft-gari palmette scrolls; at least 5 of the bossets have been reriveted, suggesting that the grip apparatus may be replaced. Center medallion with gold koft-gari lion and sun, surrounded by inscription in cartouches and by trefoil border. Outer registers consecutively with palm border, inscription and trefoil border. Applied two-part rim also with traces of gold koft-gari. Reverse with remnants of floral-striped chinz lining with rectangular stuffed red silk pad with chevronic fabric tape border. One edge has saw-tooth design. Secured with 6 "U"-shaped loops, each having large ring.
