DescriptionSlight flared base and lip, body has five bearded heads separated by raised vertical bands. The bronze has cracked around one of the faces. The face looks like the Vernicle – or face of Christ on Veronica’s Veil. The presence of imagery makes this mortar different from others in the collection.
